BLUBO safety approach

Verification is one layer, not a promise of safety.

BLUBO is being designed to reduce avoidable risks, explain the limits of every check, and make help available when something goes wrong.

The planned controls

Each risk needs a specific response.

Age assurance

Registration will be limited to adults. The exact minimum age and the assurance method must be confirmed before sign up opens, then enforced on the server rather than through a simple checkbox alone.

Specific identity claims

Phone, liveness, age, and identity checks should appear as separate claims. BLUBO should not use one vague badge that implies more than was actually checked.

Private evidence

Identity documents and liveness evidence must remain separate from public profiles, with restricted access and defined deletion periods.

Human response

Blocking, reporting, review, escalation, and appeals require trained people, service standards, and auditable decisions. Interface controls alone are not enough.

When conduct crosses the line

The rules must follow a person across the whole service.

A block should remove contact across discovery, matching, messaging, notifications, and event interactions where appropriate. A report should remain available after an unmatch.

Current boundary

The BLUBO website and demo do not currently perform identity checks, review reports, monitor dates, or contact emergency services. In immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or a trusted person.
